FROM CAMPUS TO GLORY

In the past week, the athletes representing Nixor College have taken their determination
and will to excel out of the college campus and have starred at multiple sporting
competitions like the widely renowned Alpha Sports Fest (ASF) and Pakistan Sports School
Organisation (PSSO) annual tournament.
The Nixor football team, captained by Ahmed Farooq, displayed their sheer dominance in
the PSSO tournament after defeating Alpha college 6 – 0 in the quarter finals and after a
nail biting encounter with Cedar College clinched a close victory of 5 – 4 on penalties. Zohair
Khan earned the award for the most valuable player of the tournament. Nixor College also
emerged victorious in the Lyceum Football tournament after beating Karachi Grammar
School 4 – 0 in the finals while Jawad Imran became the most valuable player of the
tournament and Yaseen Danish received the golden glove.
Complimenting the football team, the cricket team of Nixor College, captained by
Hassan-ul-Haq won the prestigious PSSO tournament after defeating Cedar college in the
finals. Their road to glory encompassed a defeat to Alpha college in the quarterfinals and
Whales college in the semifinals before lifting their 3rd consecutive cup. Usman Salman
received the award for the best fielder of the tournament. Similar to their past
performances, Nixor College reached the finals of ASF and ended up as runners up after
conceding a defeat to Cedar College.
The spirit showcased by these athletes remains a testament to the unity and excellence
Nixor College preaches, and these performances have surely made the whole Nixor
community eminent.
